SINGAPORE, October 14,2025 — As global food systems face mounting pressure from climate change, population growth, and supply chain volatility, the Asia-Pacific region is positioning itself at the forefront of agrifood transformation. From 3 to 6 November 2025, Singapore will host the Singapore International Agri-Food Week (SIAW), a landmark convergence of industry leaders, investors, policymakers, and innovators dedicated to accelerating the future of sustainable, resilient, and tech-driven food systems.
SIAW 2025 marks a pivotal moment for the agrifood sector, featuring three flagship events: the eighth annual Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit, the inaugural Further Food & Ag Investment Summit, and the Women Founders & Funders Singapore 2025 pitch night. Together, these gatherings aim to catalyze investment, foster cross-border collaboration, and spotlight breakthrough technologies poised to reshape how food is grown, processed, distributed, and consumed across one of the world’s most dynamic, and food-critical, regions.

Bridging the Investment Gap: The Launch of the Further Food & Ag Investment Summit
Kicking off SIAW on 3 November at the Guoco Midtown Network Hub, the Further Food & Ag Investment Summit debuts as a high-impact, invite-only forum designed to address a glaring imbalance in global capital flows. While the Asia-Pacific region produces over 50% of the world’s food, it receives less than 25% of global agrifoodtech investment, a disparity that represents both a systemic challenge and a multi-trillion-dollar opportunity.
Organized in partnership with AgFunder, a leading global agrifoodtech venture firm, the summit brings together early- and growth-stage startups, institutional and corporate investors, and strategic partners to unlock capital, forge commercial partnerships, and fast-track scalable solutions to regional food security and sustainability challenges.
“The transformation of our food system demands more than innovation, it requires capital and collaboration, especially in a region as diverse and complex as Asia-Pacific,” said John Friedman, Director of AgFunder Asia. “That’s why we’ve partnered with the Further Summit: to spotlight the region’s most promising innovators and work with investors to build a stronger, more responsive capital stack.”
The 2025 investment agenda will focus on three high-growth frontiers:
- AI and digitalization in supply chains and farm management
- Regenerative agriculture and nature-based solutions that restore ecosystems while boosting yields
- Novel ingredients and bio-innovations, including precision fermentation and cellular agriculture
By creating a curated environment for deal-making and strategic alignment, the Further Summit aims to close the financing gap and position Asia-Pacific not just as a production hub, but as a global engine of agrifood innovation.
Innovation at Scale: The Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit
Running from 4–6 November, the Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit serves as the anchor of SIAW. Co-organized by Temasek and the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), the summit is expected to draw over 800 participants from more than 40 countries, transforming Marina Bay Sands into a nexus of technological discovery, policy dialogue, and executive networking.
A distinguished 200-member speaker faculty, comprising CEOs, scientists, government officials, and venture capitalists, will dissect the policies, financing models, and cross-sector partnerships driving transformation across the agrifood value chain. Sessions will explore everything from AI-powered pest detection and blockchain-enabled traceability to circular packaging and urban vertical farming.
Concurrent with the summit, the Agri-Food Tech Expo Asia (AFTEA), now in its fourth edition, will showcase cutting-edge applications and systems at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre. Dubbed Asia’s premier platform for agrifoodtech demonstration, AFTEA 2025 centers on the theme “Shaping Sustainable and Nutritious Food Systems,” with eight strategic focus areas:
- Aquaculture: Innovations in feed, health monitoring, and offshore farming
- Deep Tech & Digital Solutions: Robotics, IoT, and AI for smart agriculture
- Food Safety & Security: Rapid testing, contamination prevention, and regulatory tech
- Novel Foods, Alternative Proteins & Sustainable Food: Plant-based, fermented, and cultivated options
- Novel Food Technology: Precision fermentation, enzymatic processing, and bio-manufacturing
- Smart Farming & Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA): Vertical farms, hydroponics, and climate-resilient greenhouses
- Smart Processing & Packaging: Waste-reducing, shelf-life-extending, and compostable materials
- Sustainability & Resource Management: Water efficiency, soil health, and circular economy models
“The Asia-Pacific region is not just adapting to the future of food, it’s actively designing it,” said a spokesperson for Temasek. “SIAW provides the stage for turning vision into viable, investable, and impactful realities.”
Elevating Women-Led Innovation: Women Founders & Funders Singapore 2025
On 5 November, the spotlight turns to gender equity and entrepreneurial excellence with the Women Founders & Funders Singapore 2025 pitch night. Organized by FTW Ventures and supported by strategic partners including Better Earth Ventures, MarTech Collective, Rebbeck Consulting, and Tomorrow Studio Ventures, the event will feature 10 women-led agrifoodtech startups pitching to a room of investors, corporates, and industry mentors.
This year’s applicant pool, drawn from 15 countries, reflects the region’s growing depth of female entrepreneurship in deep tech and sustainability. While Singapore leads submissions (31%), strong representation also comes from New Zealand (14%), Thailand (11%), and emerging hubs like Vietnam, Indonesia, and Canada. Notably, although no Australian founders were selected this year, three New Zealand-based innovators made the final cohort.
“These founders aren’t just ideating, they’re executing,” said Rebecca Sharpe, Director at Better Earth Ventures. “They’re at revenue stage, with certifications, live pilots, and real customers. Their solutions, from regenerative soil platforms to smart cold-chain logistics and circular biomaterials, prove that climate-positive businesses can be commercially compelling.”
Sharpe emphasized the persistent underfunding of women-led ventures in agrifoodtech, where female founders receive less than 2% of total venture capital globally. “This initiative isn’t just about equity, it’s about recognizing that diverse leadership drives better innovation. These women are proving Asia’s role as a global growth engine for the future of food.”
A Regional Catalyst for Global Change
As climate pressures intensify and food demand surges, Asia-Pacific’s population is projected to reach 4.7 billion by 2050, the need for systemic transformation has never been more urgent. SIAW 2025 arrives at a critical inflection point, offering a coordinated platform to align capital, policy, and technology toward a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food future.
With Singapore’s strategic position as a global hub for finance, logistics, and innovation, the city-state is uniquely positioned to convene stakeholders across borders and sectors. The success of SIAW could well set the template for how emerging economies collaborate to feed the world, without costing the Earth.
As John Friedman of AgFunder aptly noted: “The future of food won’t be built in silos. It will be co-created, here, in Asia, and with purpose.”
