Fruit Attraction 2025 Set to Break Records with Unprecedented Growth and Global Reach
MADRID — The 17th edition of Fruit Attraction, the leading international trade event for the fruit and vegetable sector, will return to IFEMA MADRID from September 30 to October 2, 2025, with record-breaking participation and expanded international scope. Organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX (the Spanish Federation of Associations of Exporting Producers of Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers and Live Plants), this year’s edition promises to be the largest and most diverse in its history.
Record Numbers Reflect Industry Momentum
Fruit Attraction 2025 will welcome 2,460 confirmed exhibitors, marking an 8.4% increase over the previous year. The event will occupy more than 840,000 square feet (78,000 square meters) of exhibition space — up 10% from 2024 — spread across 10 halls at IFEMA MADRID. Organizers project an attendance of over 120,000 industry professionals from 150 countries, underscoring the show’s status as a vital hub for global produce trade.
This year’s growth includes 323 new companies joining the exhibition, as well as first-time participation from 14 countries, among them Ethiopia, Jordan, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe. The increase reflects the accelerating globalization of the fresh produce supply chain and the growing relevance of the show for new markets and suppliers.
A Truly Global Industry Platform
While Spain remains the largest national contingent, international exhibitors now account for 48% of total participation, representing 1,418 companies from across the globe. The remaining 52% are domestic exhibitors, showcasing Spain’s ongoing leadership in the agricultural sector.
Exhibitor space is divided both geographically and by sector, designed to optimize business connections and enhance the visitor experience. The Fresh Produce Area will once again dominate the show floor, occupying roughly 70% of the total space, while key verticals such as Auxiliary Industry and Fresh Food Logistics will return to highlight innovations in packaging, refrigeration, and transportation.
The Innova&Tech area, home to forward-looking platforms like Biotech Attraction and Smart Agro, has grown 31% year-on-year, demonstrating the rising influence of technology, research, and sustainable innovation within the industry.
Guest Importing Countries and Sector Spotlights
As part of Fruit Attraction’s commitment to fostering international trade, Malaysia and Mexico will serve as the Guest Importing Countries for 2025. Their delegations will participate in a robust programme of B2B meetings, guided tours, and roundtable discussions, offering new opportunities for import-export growth between these nations and other attending markets.
Tomatoes will be the show’s “star product” for 2025, with specialized programming to highlight their nutritional benefits, market value, and evolving role in global trade.
A new Organic Hub Tour will also debut, guiding visitors through a curated selection of companies certified in organic agriculture, one of the fastest-growing segments in the industry.
Buyers’ Programmes and Business Development
Fruit Attraction’s International Buyers Programme will host nearly 700 top-level buyers from 67 countries, coordinated in partnership with Spain’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, and FEPEX. The initiative facilitates high-value meetings between buyers and exhibitors, streamlining trade and encouraging long-term commercial relationships.
Innovation and Recognition at the Forefront
Innovation remains a cornerstone of the event. The Innovation Hub will feature 50 cutting-edge products, while the Innovation Hub Awards will recognize standout solutions in areas such as sustainability, packaging, logistics, and new product development.
Other key recognitions include:
