Meghalaya’s Shiitake Mushroom Industry Gains Global Momentum Through Strategic Partnership with Japan
In a landmark move poised to transform Meghalaya’s agricultural landscape, the Hill Farmers’ Shiitake Mushroom Co-op Society Ltd. of Meghalaya and Japan’s YATS Corporation formalized a collaborative agreement on February 14 to strengthen market linkages and establish a robust supply chain for Shiitake mushroom cultivation in the state. The partnership, signed at the Shillong Club, marks a significant step in Meghalaya’s economic development, with the potential to elevate local farmers to global standards.
