Arabfields, Sophia Daly, Financial Analyst specialized in Agriculture and Futures Markets — The global pineapple market continued to show steady momentum as international trade remained supported by strong consumer demand and improving harvest conditions in several producing regions. Fresh pineapple prices remained relatively stable, while exporters monitored weather conditions and shipping costs that continue to influence supply chains.
Producers in Costa Rica, the Philippines and Thailand, the world’s leading pineapple exporters, reported favorable harvests during 2026 despite localized weather challenges. Growers said investments in irrigation, disease management and improved farming techniques have helped maintain production levels, allowing exporters to meet demand from key overseas markets.
Global pineapple exports remained concentrated in North America, Europe and East Asia, where retailers continued to expand their selection of fresh and processed fruit. Demand for canned pineapple, frozen products and fruit based beverages also supported international trade, while food manufacturers increased purchases for use in snacks, desserts and health focused products.
Industry estimates indicate that the global pineapple market reached approximately USD 31 billion during 2026. Consumption continued to rise as consumers sought fresh fruit rich in vitamin C and natural antioxidants. Higher disposable incomes in emerging economies and growing interest in healthy eating contributed to the expansion of both domestic and international markets.
Farmers say labor availability, fertilizer prices and freight costs remain important challenges. Exporters are also investing in more sustainable production methods and environmentally friendly packaging as buyers increasingly prioritize responsible sourcing.
Looking ahead, market analysts expect the pineapple sector to maintain moderate growth over the next several years. Continued expansion of international trade, stronger demand for fresh and processed fruit and investments in agricultural productivity are expected to support the market. While weather related risks and transportation costs could create temporary price fluctuations, global consumption is projected to continue rising, reinforcing positive prospects for producers, exporters and retailers.
